After shocking aficionados in 2013 with the introduction of the Black Band Collection (beginning with the Davidoff Nicaragua), Davidoff followed up shortly thereafter with the Brazilian-themed Davidoff Escurio (eventually tying the knot on the trilogy with the Davidoff Yamasá). While the collection may still feel recent to brand loyalists, 2025 marked the 10th anniversary of the line’s second cigar—Escurio—and Davidoff celebrated the occasion with the aptly named Davidoff Escurio 10th Anniversary Limited Edition. Not surprisingly, Davidoff pulled out all the stops in building the blend, featuring a similar composition to the core-line Escurio with added age and a portion of barrel-aged tobacco. This begins with a four-year-aged Ecuadorian wrapper and nine-year-aged Brazilian binder, each surrounding a filler blend from Brazil and the Dominican Republic. Perhaps most notably, one of the Dominican fillers was finished in bourbon barrels for six months prior to the cigars being rolled. All told, this makes for a darker experience when compared to the vibrant tone of the original. Musty oak and earth are most noticeable at the start, eventually opening up to include espresso powder, aged leather, dry chocolate, and black licorice through the finale.
