La Aurora has opened a new cigar lounge in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, bringing the company’s cigars, rum, and coffee together under one roof.
The La Aurora Cigar Lounge is located on the 11th floor of the Residence Inn by Marriott Santiago de los Caballeros. The company marked the opening with an event attended by La Aurora executives, representatives from the hotel, members of the Board of Directors of Hospital Metropolitano de Santiago (HOMS), and others from the cigar industry.
The location keeps La Aurora close to its roots. Santiago sits in the Cibao Valley, the center of the Dominican Republic’s tobacco industry and the region where Eduardo León Jimenes founded La Aurora in 1903.
Inside, the lounge includes a central seating area, bar, walk-in humidor, and a separate private lounge that can be used for social and corporate events. An outdoor balcony overlooks the mountains north of Santiago.
The walk-in humidor carries cigars from La Aurora’s portfolio, while the bar offers E. León Jimenes 110 Aniversario and E. León Jimenes 1903 rums, along with Kora coffee.
“This space will enrich Santiago’s tourism offering while strengthening the tobacco culture that distinguishes us as a country and celebrates a tradition we have preserved across generations,” said Don Guillermo León, President of La Aurora.
The new lounge is the latest cigar-focused destination in Santiago, giving visitors another option for experiencing the Dominican Republic’s cigar industry while in the city.
