Topper Cigars is expanding its 1894 series with the new Topper 1894 Broadleaf, while simultaneously adding a compact Shorty vitola to three of the company’s premium lines.
The Topper 1894 Broadleaf builds on the existing 1894 blend, swapping in a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper grown in the United States. The cigar also makes use of Connecticut Broadleaf-seed tobacco grown in the Dominican Republic for the filler, along with a Dominican binder.
According to Topper, the combination of Connecticut-grown Broadleaf on the outside and Dominican-grown Connecticut Broadleaf-seed tobacco in the filler is one the company hasn’t previously used.
The Topper 1894 Broadleaf will initially be offered in three sizes, packaged in boxes of 20:
- Toro: 6″ x 54 — $10.50 MSRP
- Corona: 6″ x 44 — $8.75 MSRP
- Robusto: 4″ x 50 — $8.75 MSRP
Alongside the new blend, Topper is introducing a new Shorty (4¼” x 43) format across the Topper 1894, Topper 1894 Broadleaf, and Topper 125th Anniversary lines. Unlike the 20-count packaging of the larger 1894 Broadleaf sizes, the Shorty cigars will be sold in boxes of 25.
The Topper 1894 and 1894 Broadleaf Shorty are priced at $5.50 per cigar, while the 125th Anniversary version carries an MSRP of $6.50.
