In the fall of last year, the PCA announced that the organization had secured nine prominent manufacturers to introduce exclusive products for the 2021 trade show, scheduled to take place at the Sands Expo & Convention Center from July 9–13.

These manufacturers included Alec Bradley, Arturo Fuente, CLE, Crowned Heads, Illusione, J.C. Newman, Padrón, Rocky Patel, and Tatuaje.

Today, Crowned Heads revealed their PCA exclusive as the Le Pâtissier, a brand that draws inspiration from Crowned Heads’ former Le Carême cigar. This includes the use of a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, a blend style that the company has now showcased from each of their four manufacturing partners. Differing from Le Carême, the Le Pâtissier moves from Ernesto Perez-Carrillo’s Tabacalera La Alianza factory in the DR, instead opting for Tabacalera Pichardo in Nicaragua. This has been a growing trend for Crowned Heads in recent years, including the Juárez, Mil Días, The Lost Angel 2021, and Mother Church cigars.

Le Pâtissier translates from French to mean Pastry Chef, relating to Le Carême’s inspiration of French chef Marie-Antoine Carême. The cigar’s Grade-A Dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper is joined by a Nicaraguan Jalapa binder and fillers of Costa Rica and Nicaragua’s Pueblo Nueva and Ometepe regions.

When we were approached to do a PCA 2021 exclusive we wanted to bring something special to the show. Pâtissier is an amazing expression of Connecticut Broadleaf that exudes a unique combination of complexity, finesse and balance. Le Pâtissier is rolled in a singular 6½” x 44 format that will be offered exclusively to retailers that attend the 2021 PCA trade show. The cigars are packaged in boxes of 20 and will retail for a suggested price of $10.50.
