Plasencia Cigars has announced El Año de la Cabra (Year of the Goat), the seventh annual release in its Chinese Zodiac series and the 2027 edition.

The cigar is a 6¼ x 60 Perfecto Figurado, limited to 6,000 individually numbered boxes of ten cigars worldwide. MSRP is $60.00 per cigar or $600 per box. The release doesn’t give a ship date or say how the cigars will be distributed.

El Año de la Cabra is made in Danlí, Honduras. It uses a Honduran wrapper grown in the Azacualpa region of Olancho and a binder from the Jamastrán Valley. The filler combines tobacco from the Jamastrán Valley with organically grown tobacco from Estelí, Nicaragua. Plasencia describes itself as the only premium cigar house that grows certified organic tobacco. The release doesn’t list a strength rating. It describes a progression from toasted oak and espresso to dark chocolate, raisins and earthy notes, finishing with walnut, cinnamon, clove and a lingering toasted sweetness.

“The goat represents a quiet but powerful strength, one that comes from patience, balance, and an instinctive connection to nature,” said Néstor Andrés Plasencia, fifth generation. “Those qualities are deeply connected to how our family has approached tobacco for more than 160 years. With El Año de la Cabra, we wanted to create a cigar that honors that philosophy, bringing together the character of our Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos in an expression that is both distinctive and deeply rooted in the land.”

The cigars come in a red lacquered wooden box with gold detailing and patterns inspired by the curves of a goat’s horns. The design draws on the hóngbāo, the traditional Chinese red envelope, and each box includes individual cigar gift boxes tied to the Lunar New Year themes of prosperity and generosity.

“Our Chinese Zodiac collection has become an opportunity to express Plasencia’s creativity and innovation while celebrating traditions that resonate with cigar enthusiasts around the world,” said Ed Bello, Chief Executive Officer of Plasencia Cigars. “El Año de la Cabra continues that journey, bringing together thoughtful design, exceptional tobacco, and the craftsmanship that defines our family-owned brand.”

The Goat is priced a dollar above the previous entry. Dojo’s coverage of the Year of the Horse release listed that cigar at $59 per cigar and $590 per box, also in 6,000 boxes of ten.
