CAO is merging two of its lines for Flathead American Muscle, a limited-edition cigar that will be sold only through Tobacconistsโ Association of America (TAA) retailers. Shipping begins in November 2026.
The cigar takes the CAO America blend and puts it in the box-pressed 6 x 60 format used by the Flathead series. The wrapper is the barber pole from CAO America, a pairing of Connecticut Broadleaf and Connecticut Shade, over a Brazilian binder. Fillers come from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, the United States, and Italy.

Both lines have turned up on Dojo this year. CAO revisited the America blend in April with America 250th Anniversary, a 5ยฝ x 55 robusto built entirely from U.S.-grown tobacco. In January, the company added Speed Shop Habano to Flathead, with pricing from $8.99 to $10.99 per cigar. For price context, Flathead V23, also a box-pressed 6 x 60, carried an MSRP of $13.99 when it shipped in 2023.
โCAOโs Flathead and America cigars have always shared a certain attitude,โ said Cory Beardsley, Brand Manager for CAO. โAmerican Muscle gave us the opportunity to bring those two worlds together, taking the distinctive CAO America blend and putting it into the signature Flathead format fans know and love. It feels familiar to fans of both lines, but also owns a lane of its own.โ
CAO Flathead American Muscle will be offered in boxes of 12 with a suggested retail price of $12.99 per cigar. The release does not name the factory or say how many boxes will be made.
