CAO is revisiting one of its more recognizable blends with the introduction of America 250th Anniversary, a limited release tied to the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States.
While the original CAO America debuted in 2007, this new version shifts the concept further by using only tobaccos grown in the United States, making it a true American puro. The cigar features the brand’s signature barber pole wrapper, combining U.S. Broadleaf and Connecticut Shade, along with a Connecticut-grown Havana seed binder and fillers from Broadleaf and Pennsylvania tobacco.
The blend keeps the visual identity of the original release but updates the construction with a box-pressed format. According to CAO, the goal was to build on the earlier concept while focusing entirely on domestic tobacco.
“CAO has built its reputation on exploring tobaccos from around the world,” said Cory Beardsley, Brand Manager for CAO. “With America 250th, we focused on what can be achieved using tobacco grown right here in the U.S. It’s a cigar that stays true to what made the original America stand out, while bringing a new level of precision to the blend.”
The cigar will be offered in a single 5½ x 55 box-pressed robusto format, packaged in boxes of 10. Production takes place at STG Estelí, with shipping scheduled to begin May 4, 2026. Pricing is set at $9.99 per cigar.
