Earning our Up-and-Coming Person of the Year honors, Nicholas Perdomo III represents a new generation of leadership that has been quietly preparing for this moment for most of his life. Rather than stepping directly into an executive role, Perdomo spent years immersed in the factory side of the business, logging countless summers in Nicaragua learning tobacco growing, curing, fermentation, and production firsthand before moving into sales and retailer-facing roles after college. That dual-track education culminated in his promotion to National Director of Sales in 2019, where he helped guide Perdomo through a period of record performance while strengthening relationships at the retail level. In 2025, that long runway came into focus with the debut of the Perdomo Legacy, the first core-line project spearheaded by Nicholas (made to honor his father, Nick Perdomo Jr.) and one built around a genuinely new Nicaraguan shade-grown hybrid tobacco that is said to have been in development for the past five years. The cigar balances innovation with restraint, delivering a profile that feels evolved without abandoning the brand’s identity, and ultimately became our No. 1 Cigar of the Year for 2025. It was a defining statement not just for the line, but for Nicholas himself, becoming a leader who understands both the weight of legacy and the responsibility of pushing it forward for the next generation.
