United Cigars has announced plans to release a special edition of its Independence Firecracker cigar in 2026, timed to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the United States. The project continues the company’s long-running collaboration with Arnold André, one of the cigar industry’s oldest manufacturers.

The Independence Firecracker is a compact 3 ½ x 50 vitola, continuing the Firecracker line’s recognizable short format and signature fuse-style head. According to United Cigars, the blend incorporates ligero tobaccos from both the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua, paired with a Dominican binder and a Mexican Habano wrapper.

The release also highlights several milestones tied to the partnership. Arnold André, a Germany-based cigar company, celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2017 and marks 15 years of premium cigar production in the Dominican Republic in 2026. Both companies are members of ProCigar, the association representing Dominican cigar manufacturers.

“Our partnership with Arnold Andre began a few years ago and this profile came together after many hours together in the factory,” said United Cigars’ Oliver Nivaud. “The company has purchased some amazing tobaccos over the years and we were blessed to work with these aged leaves.”

The cigars will be packaged in collectible tins containing 12 cigars each. The tins feature patriotic inscriptions and are designed to be reused as ashtrays once emptied. United Cigars has described the blend as medium-plus in strength, with an emphasis on balance derived from the dual-country ligero components.

The Independence Firecracker is expected to carry a suggested retail price of $9 per cigar, with a projected ship date of June 2026. Production is limited.
