Fratello Cigars announced the launch of The Fratello 1821 Dominican Republic, marking the beginning of its new Puro Collection. This series features cigars where the wrapper, binder, and filler all come from one country. The first release, crafted entirely from Dominican tobacco, will debut at PCA 2025 in New Orleans.

Omar de Frias, founder of Fratello Cigars, shared his thoughts on the project: “We at Fratello have been known for working on tobacco blends from various countries. With the Puro Collection, I wanted to challenge myself and create something truly extraordinary with a single origin blend, and the Fratello 1821 Dominican Republic delivered.” The name “1821” nods to the year both the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua declared independence from Spain, a nod to their shared tobacco heritage.

The Fratello 1821 Dominican Republic is a medium to full-bodied cigar, available in a 6 x 58 size. It will be packaged in 12-count boxes and priced at $18.21 per cigar. Production is handled by the La Aurora factory in the Dominican Republic, with shipping expected to start in September 2025. The company plans to follow this release with the Fratello 1821 Nicaragua as the next in the Puro Collection.
