Caldwell Cigar Co. has announced two new cigar offerings set to debut at the PCA 2025 trade show in New Orleans.

The first is the Long Live the King Mad Mofo Habano, a follow-up to the original Mad Mofo. This new iteration builds on Caldwell’s previous effort to cater to fans of bolder, Nicaraguan-style cigars. According to the company, the Habano version “is bigger in body with more spice than the rest of Caldwell’s lines,” while still aiming to maintain the brand’s signature balance. The blend features a Habano wrapper, a Sumatra binder, and fillers from Pennsylvania, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic. It will be produced at Tabacalera William Ventura in the Dominican Republic and comes in four vitolas, with prices ranging from $140 to $163 per box of 10.

Also making a return is the King is Dead Escape Plan, originally released in 2022. This box-pressed version of the King is Dead line is produced in the Dominican Republic and utilizes the same tobaccos as the original blend, but with changes in filler ratios, primings, and fermentation techniques. Caldwell describes the result as “smooth and creamy with a more pronounced, concentrated flavor.” It will also be made at Tabacalera William Ventura and offered in four sizes, priced from $334.70 to $382.52 per box of 20.

Both cigars will be available for order starting on the first day of PCA 2025, with shipping to retailers expected the following week.
