Plasencia Cigars has introduced Alma del Cielo, a high-elevation cigar, at the 2025 PCA in New Orleans. Named “Soul from the Sky,” the cigar is made from tobacco grown at Finca San Julian in Condega, Nicaragua, at over 3,500 feet above sea level.

The reveal at the Plasencia booth was highlighted by a performance by October London American R&B singer and songwriter of the chart-topping single “Back to Your Place.

The story of Alma del Cielo begins with Melalina Torres, wife of Don Nestor Plasencia, who spent her childhood at Finca San Julian, a family-owned farm in Estelí. Years after her father sold the land, Melalina met Nestor at a gathering in Estelí, sparking a romance. After marriage and time spent in Honduras, Nestor surprised Melalina by repurchasing the farm in the 1990s as an anniversary gift. Now named after her father, Finca San Julian grows tobacco in high-altitude fields nourished by a natural stream.

“This cigar is more than a product,” said Nestor Andres, Don Nestor’s son. “It is a living memory, a symbol of our family, a reflection of our sustainable farming practices, and of nature at its most generous.” The farm’s soil is carefully tended to support sustainable tobacco cultivation.

The Alma del Cielo offers a flavor profile starting with creamy marzipan and honey notes, followed by earthy tones and hints of orange zest. The smoke develops with cedar and nougat, ending with a touch of ginger spice. It is presented in 10-count boxes and available in three vitolas: Celeste (Robusto, 4 7/8 x 52), Boreal (Toro, 6 1/8 x 54), and Amanecer (Hexágono, 6 x 60).
