If cigar smokers can’t go to Honduras, Camacho may as well bring Honduras to them! This was the mindset behind Camacho’s latest project, likely inspired after the global pandemic cancelled season after season of Camacho’s annual trips to their modernized factory and guest house (i.e. Camp Camacho) in Danlí, Honduras. Where visitors would normally be given the chance to blend their own cigar, Camacho has instead done the heavy lifting, aiming to showcase new factory-fresh smoking experiences on a yearly basis. The kicker is that the cigars are among the most affordable in the company’s lineup, stripping away costly packaging to direct all value toward the highest-quality tobaccos Camacho could stuff into a sub-eight-dollar price point—in a toro format, no less. Not concerned with intricacy or finesse (this is the Value-Priced award, after all), the Camacho Factory Unleashed is instead zesty, flavor forward, and easily approachable for a wide range of palates. What drew us in was the cigar’s high level of saltiness, giving a lip-smacking, mouth-watering sensation, with tried ‘n true flavors of roasted peanuts, zesty cabinet spices, and fresh-baked pretzel.
