Macanudo’s contemporary Inspirado cigar first cropped up as a European exclusive in 2014, quickly expanding to include a large range of smoking experiences. In 2021, the brand debuted the Inspirado Brazilian Shade as the seventh blend in the series. Donning the colors of the Brazilian flag throughout its band and packaging, the cigar boasts multiple Brazilian tobaccos throughout the blend. In fact, the Inspirado Brazilian Shade is likely the most diverse Inspirado cigar in terms of recipe, with leaves sourced from four countries. This includes a unique Brazilian-grown Connecticut Shade wrapper, as well as a proprietary Dominican Cubita filler component, which is a sun-grown tobacco cultivated on a one-acre plot in the bucolic region of Mao, Dominican Republic. And while former Inspirado cigars have scored well on Cigar Dojo, we found the Inspirado Brazilian Shade stood well above its siblings, offering a smooth, near-mild body, a silky texture, and an irresistibly clean sweetness throughout. This comes across like florals and raw sugarcane, being balanced by touches of white pepper, sage, and buttered nuts.
