Following up the wildly popular Sobremesa Brûlée cigar of 2019, Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust introduced a more premium spinoff variation of the blend in 2020, dubbed Sobremesa Brûlée Blue. Tinkering with the original Sobremesa Brûlée blend, company owner, Steve Sake, employed more precise tobacco selections and positioning within the cigar to fine-tune the experience. This was in an effort to recreate a specific smoking experience from his past—a Cuban-made 12-year-aged Davidoff Dom Perignon Churchill. Saka rolled the cigars in a concentrated corona gorda format, swapped out the bands for a new baby blue color scheme, and set them aside to rest in temperature-controlled aging rooms for over a year before being released. The result is a more potent smoking experience, offering balanced, calculated complexities from start to finish. This includes an upfront texture of oily butter on the tongue, accompanied by standout flavors of browned butter, hazelnut, cream cheese frosting, and peanut brittle.
