Shortly after making the announcement that White Hat had acquired new key team members (Todd Vance and Erica Arroyo), the company continues to fine-tune its strategy leading into the 2019 IPCPR trade show. White Hat Cigars today announced that the company will now be known as La Familia Robaina, as to better highlight the involvement of Hirochi Robaina and his family’s legendary status within the industry.
After fielding questions for the past 3.5 years about the relationship between the Robaina’s and White Hat, Hirochi and I felt it made sense to rename the company. The Robaina name is steeped in tobacco and tradition. When people are considering our cigars, we want them to know that there are 175 years of experience and tradition that have gone into every one.Spence Drake, owner of White Hat Cigars
Hirochi Robaina first debuted his own line of non-Cuban cigars—HR Signature—in 2014, which were then distributed by Cubanacan Cigars; but the two entities parted ways the year following. Robaina is now a member of La Familia Robaina, offering a growing collection of HR-branded cigars (HR Signature, HR Blue, HR Claro).
