One year after introducing a unique collaboration with Kentucky-based distillery, Rabbit Hole Distillery, Diesel has announced a followup cigar known as Whiskey Row Sherry Cask.
As with 2018’s Whiskey Row cigar, the Whiskey Row Sherry Cask has been crafted by Master Blender A.J. Fernández at his acclaimed factory in Estelí. Likewise, the cigars incorporate the same proprietary barrel-aging process developed by Fernández, where the binder leaves (as opposed to the usual filler or fully rolled cigars) are fermented in spent barrels. But where the original cigars incorporated leaves aged in traditional bourbon barrels, the Whiskey Row Sherry Cask features binder leaves aged in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks formerly containing Rabbit Hole bourbon.
Whiskey Row Sherry Cask is set to begin shipping on June 3rd, shortly before the industry’s annual IPCPR trade show later in the month. The cigar’s signature Brazilian Arapiraca barrel-aged binder is complimented by Nicaraguan Habano fillers and a dark Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper. Three sizes will be released at launch, packaged in boxes of 20 cigars, with prices ranging from $8.49 to $9.49 MSRP.
