Beginning in May, United Cigars will ship a new collaborative project with Hammer + Sickle, known as Series Unidas.

The Series Unidas series is said to have been in the works for several years, with the Hammer + Sickle cigar originally intended for a 2018 release. But the project was put on hold after Eric P. Hanson, President of Hammer + Sickle Cigars, passed away unexpectedly in 2018. The cigars were reportedly blended for Eric’s palate using “his favorite tobaccos from the Davidoff Factory in the Dominican Republic.” The project has now been completed, with the cigars benefitting from an added year’s aging.

The cigars were made and packaging idea’s discussed, but after Eric’s passing everything was put on hold. These cigars have been resting for over one year now and have aged beautifully.Erik Wentworth, Executive Vice President of Hammer & Sickle Cigars

Series Unidas has been rolled in a singular 6¾” x 46 format, with boxes of 20 cigars set to retail for $180 MSRP ($9/cigar). Packaging features imagery/logos from both companies, with a limited allotment of only 300 boxes in circulation. In addition, the boxes incorporate a unique tamper-proof security measure, zip-tying the boxes shut.

United Cigars is best known for ultra-premium brands such as Atabey and Byron, while Hammer + Sickle produces both vodka and premium cigars—the latter being handled by the Kelner family’s TabaDom facilities in the Dominican Republic.
