Apostate Cigars has announced that its upcoming Death Mask release has sold through its entire 250-box production ahead of an October ship date.
Death Mask was first offered to retailers during the 2026 PCA Trade Show in New Orleans, with the remaining inventory later made available to existing Apostate accounts. The company says retailers that received allocations can expect shipments to begin October 1.
The release is notable for being Apostate’s first cigar produced outside of Tabacalera Palma, the factory responsible for the company’s regular portfolio. Death Mask is being made at James Brown’s Tabacalera Oveja Negra factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, using tobacco from Brown’s personal inventory.
The blend features a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over an Ecuadorian binder and fillers from Nicaragua and the United States, including broadleaf tobacco. Kendrick Woolstenhulme and Brandon Oveson are listed as the blenders for the project.
Death Mask is offered in a single 5½” x 48 format with an MSRP of $20 per cigar. Production is limited to 250 boxes, all of which have now been allocated to retailers. Shipments are scheduled to begin October 1, 2026.
