With the United States preparing to celebrate its 250th anniversary in 2026, J.C. Newman Cigar Co. has begun shipping its America250 Cigar Humidor, a limited-edition release produced in partnership with Milwaukee Humidor Co.
The project combines a handcrafted humidor with 50 cigars from J.C. Newman’s The American brand. Each humidor includes 50 Perfecto cigars, one representing each state. The cigars are a new 6ยผ” x 50 size and feature official America250 branding from the United States Semiquincentennial Commission.
The humidors are built by Milwaukee Humidor Co. founder Jason LeGear. A centerpiece of the design is a wooden map of the United States created through marquetry, with each state crafted from wood native to that state. The humidor also features a red, white, and blue border along with the official America250 logo.
โJ.C. Newman is proud to roll official cigars of the 250th Anniversary of the United States,โ said fourth-generation cigar maker Drew Newman. โWe are equally proud to release this limited-edition series of America250 cigar humidors. Cigars have been an important part of our country since its founding. Therefore, it is only fitting that we celebrate Americaโs 250th birthday with a humidor and cigars handmade in America.โ
According to the company, all components used in the project were sourced or manufactured in the United States, including the tobacco used in the cigars and the hardware incorporated into the humidor.
โThe tradition of American craft dates back to before the founding of our country, the Native peoples constructing their environment to live and connect with myth, settlers creating novel ways of making furniture in an American tradition all its own, and those of us embracing natural materials to explore art and design,โ said LeGear. โI am honored to be woven into the tapestry of American Handcraft in our fine country with the America250 Cigar Humidor. It is my homage to American cigar culture, from the giants of culture like Mark Twain, Orson Welles, Groucho Marx, Ernest Hemingway, and Studs Terkel, to the people who for generations have cultivated, harvested, and created the cigars you now enjoy.โ
This marks the fourth consecutive year that J.C. Newman and Milwaukee Humidor Co. have collaborated on a limited-edition humidor project. Previous releases included the 2023 American All-Star Humidor, the 2024 Tampa Bay Lightning Humidor, and the 2025 Home Run Humidor.
Only 50 America250 humidors are being produced. Because each uses different wood species throughout the map design, every humidor will vary in appearance. The humidors have a stated capacity of 100 to 125 cigars and carry a suggested retail price of $2,750.
