Joya de Nicaragua is revisiting one of its longest-running lines with a new release tied to a piece of the brand’s history.
The company has announced the Clásico Original Green Room Selection, a limited edition that draws inspiration from the Clásico line’s connection to the White House’s Green Room, where the cigars were once enjoyed by guests following formal events.
While the release nods to that history, the concept is also framed more broadly around the idea of personal smoking spaces.
“The stories of the Green Room had been told through history and diplomacy many times, but for us the real meaning is much simpler,” said Juan Martínez, Executive President of Joya de Nicaragua. “A cigar has the unique ability to bring people together and make everyone equal for a moment. It doesn’t matter where you come from or what title you hold. Every smoker eventually creates his own Green Room, whether it’s a quiet porch, a favorite chair, a local cigar shop, or a gathering with friends, a place where the ritual of a cigar becomes a moment of connection.”
The cigar is produced in a 6 x 54 diadema format, a size the company notes has been made at its Estelí factory dating back to 1968. It uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and fillers, with a profile described as mild and creamy with a touch of pepper on the finish.
Production is limited to 1,200 boxes of 20 cigars, with 700 allocated to the U.S. market. Pricing is set at $13.50 per cigar, or $270 per box.
The Clásico Original Green Room Selection is scheduled to debut at the 2026 PCA Convention & Trade Show in New Orleans, with shipments to follow shortly after.
