Crowned Heads has announced the return of its Belgian Blue cigar blend, following a strong response to its initial release in 2024. This year’s edition introduces a 5 ½” x 56 box-pressed format and limited production of 2,500 boxes (30,000 cigars total).
“While we knew we had something special with the Belgian Blue blend,” said Crowned Heads President Jon Huber, “the reaction to that cigar surpassed even our expectations, as we were receiving many requests asking for us to produce more, bring it back, or even make it a regular production line. So, far be it from us not to listen to our customers.”
Named after the Belgian Blue breed of cattle—known for its distinct muscular build—the cigar features a blend focused on flavor intensity and balance. Huber explained, “Many new era cigars are intentionally blended for strength, but Belgian Blue was blended to be full in flavor first, and the resulting intensity and strength became a byproduct of the blend; the profile is strong and smooth at the same time.”
The 2025 Belgian Blue Limited Edition features Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers, an Ecuadorian binder, and a dark Mexican San Andrés wrapper. Production takes place at the D’Hatuey factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, under the supervision of Don Eradio Pichardo, where other Crowned Heads lines such as Mil Días, Juárez, and Blood Medicine are also crafted. Shipping is expected to begin in early November.
