In March 2025, Davidoff Cigars announced the release of a limited-edition gran toro cigar to commemorate ten years of its Escurio line. The blend features Dominican and Brazilian Bahia tobaccos with a combined age of 45 years, including a Dominican filler fermented in a bourbon cask for added sweetness. This release is the second in Davidoff’s Black Band Collection to mark a milestone, following the Nicaragua line’s debut in 2013 and Escurio’s launch in 2015.

The Escurio line, known for its medium-intensity profile, incorporates Mata Fina tobaccos from Brazil’s Bahia region alongside Dominican tobaccos. “Our large and diverse inventory facilitated the creation of this special cigar,” said Edward Simon, CMO at Oettinger Davidoff. “By adding our well-aged Brazilian tobaccos, we not only distinguish ourselves in terms of stock, but in terms of a unique taste experience where the spicy Brazilian tobaccos dynamically mingle with the creamy Dominican tobaccos.”

The cigar offers a range of flavors, starting with creamy, toasty notes and coffee, followed by leather, dried apricots, and liquorice in the second third. It concludes with bittersweet chocolate, almonds, and a touch of acacia honey sweetness. The gran toro, with a 56 ring gauge and 6-inch length, is rated 3 out of 5 for intensity and comes in a wooden box of 12, featuring the Escurio pattern.

Available from April 10, 2025, at select Davidoff merchants, premium retailers, and flagship stores, launch dates may vary by country.
