First released in 2018 in commemoration of Joya de Nicaragua’s milestone 50th anniversary, the company has since introduced new limited sizes of their premier Cinco Décadas brand on an annual basis. In 2021, Joya will re-release the first three sizes in the lineup: Diadema, El General and El Fundador.
SEE ALSO:
The first two cigars were released in 2018 as the Diadema (6″ x 54 figurado) El General (7″ x 50, Churchill). These sizes paid tribute to the first shape rolled out of the Joya factory and a pioneer in Nicaraguan tobacco, respectively. Likewise, 2019’s El Fundador (6″ x 54, Toro) addition honored a founding member of the company. Notably, the 2020 El Doctor format (honoring Dr. Alejandro Martínez Cuenca, chairman and owner of the company) has not been included for 2021.
The Cinco Décadas 2021 launch is scheduled for the beginning of July, with 600 boxes of each size being made available exclusively to Drew Diplomat-authorized retailers across the country.
