Crowned Heads
It’s been a big year for Crowned Heads, with the release of Las Calaveras, the brand’s first cigar to be made outside of the Tabacalera La Alianza factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic, instead opting for the My Father Cigars S.A. factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. Crowned Heads then released a second limited edition cigar, the Angel’s Anvil, as a 2014 TAA release. And while both were on display at the Crowned Heads booth, the focus was clearly on their newest project, Jericho Hill.
Jericho Hill will be Crowned Heads 4th installment to their core lineup, following 2013’s J.D. Howard Reserve. Following in the direction of the recent fan favorite, Las Calaveras, the new Jericho Hill will be made at the My Father Cigars S.A. factory, which will mark their 1st core-line cigar to be manufactured outside of E.P. Carrillo’s Tabacalera La Alianza factory. Inspired by Johnny Cash’s rendition of “Cocaine Blues”, “The Man in Black”, and “At Folsom Prison”, Jericho Hill features a dark Mexican San Andres wrapper, along with a fitting black band and contrasting creamy white highlights. The box itself is old and rustic in appearance, having the look of an old cigar box guitar. Jericho Hill is intended to be a full-flavored assault on the palate, rich and intense with a complexity to back it.
