Plasencia Cigars and Florida retailer Corona Cigar Company are adding a second cigar to their exclusive partnership. The new Alma Fuerte Torpedo Semi-Boxpressed, a 6 x 54, joins the Alma del Cielo Robusto Gordo that Plasencia already makes for Corona, and that cigar is getting Plasencia’s redesigned packaging.
The Alma Fuerte Torpedo is a Nicaraguan puro made with an aged Colorado Claro wrapper and aged filler tobaccos from Estelí. Plasencia rates it medium to full in body. It comes in 10-count boxes priced at $26.49 per cigar, or $264.90 per box.
The Alma del Cielo Robusto Gordo (5½ x 54) sets itself apart from the regular Alma del Cielo line with a Colorado Claro wrapper, which Plasencia says makes it a stronger, full-bodied take on the blend. It uses tobacco from Finca San Julián in Condega, Nicaragua, grown at more than 3,500 feet above sea level. Going forward, it ships in Plasencia’s new blue-and-gold 10-count boxes at $27.99 per cigar, or $279.90 per box.
“At Corona Cigar Company, we’ve always believed in offering our customers something truly distinctive,” said Jeff Borysiewicz, President and Founder of Corona Cigar Company. “The Plasencia family shares our passion for exceptional tobacco and craftsmanship. These two exclusives reflect that shared philosophy, bringing unique expressions of two outstanding collections to our customers.”
“Corona Cigar Company shares our commitment to quality and a deep appreciation for the art of tobacco,” said Ed Bello, Chief Executive Officer of Plasencia Cigars. “The introduction of the Alma Fuerte Torpedo and the continued evolution of the Alma del Cielo exclusive demonstrate how meaningful retail partnerships allow us to explore new expressions of our tobacco heritage while creating distinctive experiences for cigar enthusiasts.”
Both cigars will be sold only through Corona Cigar Company, at its five Florida stores and online at CoronaCigar.com.
