Belgian Blue is coming back for a third year, and Crowned Heads is going smaller with it.

The Nashville company’s 2026 limited edition is a 5ยผ” x 54 box-pressed cigar, down from the 5ยฝ” x 56 double robusto used in 2025 and the 6″ x 54 toro that started the series in 2024. It’s also the least expensive of the three, with an MSRP of $12.50 per cigar, compared to $13.50 last year and $12.95 for the original.

The name comes from the Belgian Blue cattle breed, which is known for “double-muscling.” When the cigar first shipped on Nov. 6, 2024, Crowned Heads pitched it as “full in flavor first, full in body second,” and the company is sticking with that idea this time around.

“Belgian Blue was never about chasing strength for strength’s sake,” said Crowned Heads President Jon Huber. “The cigar was blended for flavor and intensity first, and the power was a by-product. The annual demand over the last couple of years has been relentless, and we are proud and excited to bring it back once again.”

The blend hasn’t changed. It uses a dark Mexican San Andrรฉs wrapper over an Ecuadorian Habano binder, with Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers. Ligero makes up 75% of the tobacco, which Crowned Heads says gives the cigar more strength through thicker, more textured leaves without hurting the burn.

Production matches 2025 at 2,500 boxes of 12, or 30,000 cigars worldwide. That’s up from 2,000 boxes for the 2024 debut. The cigars are made at the TacaNicsa factory in Estelรญ, Nicaragua, under the supervision of Don Eradio Pichardo. TacaNicsa also produces Crowned Heads’ Juรกrez, Mil Dรญas, Mil Dรญas Maduro and Blood Medicine lines.

When we reviewed the 2024 edition, we rated it Medium-Plus in flavor with medium strength and body, and recommended a 5-pack. We found it balanced and more restrained than all that ligero would suggest.
