Cigar Dojo has announced an upcoming collaboration with Steve Saka and Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust, with the Shokai Bushido scheduled to debut at Cigartopia on November 14, 2026.

The project was first teased during the October 9 episode of Smoke Night LIVE, which featured Cigars Daily’s Tim Swanson as a special guest. Shokai Bushido (pronounced shoh-kai boo-shee-doh) roughly translates to an introduction to the way of the warrior, referencing the traditional samurai code.

The collaboration began roughly two years ago during a visit with Saka in Tampa, Florida. While enjoying cigars and drinks, Saka mentioned having some tobacco that he was interested in using but hadn’t yet found the right project for. The conversation eventually led to the development of Shokai Bushido.

As the project progressed, the decision was made to introduce the cigar at Cigartopia 2026, the multi-vendor cigar event organized by Swanson and the Cigars Daily team.

During the Smoke Night LIVE episode, Swanson confirmed that Shokai Bushido would initially be available exclusively to attendees at the November 14 event. Should any inventory remain following Cigartopia, the remaining cigars will be offered through cigarsdaily.com.

For now, details regarding the cigar’s blend, size, pricing, and production quantities have not been announced. Additional information is expected as the event approaches.

UPDATE: in a Facebook post on 11/2/26, Saka provided added insight into the Shokai Bushido project, along with new product imagery (as seen in the quote below).

Okay… about 3 years ago I began working with Ecuador Sumatran capa for a DTT liga.

When I decide to add a new wrapper variety to the stable of materials that I blend with it is always in steps to ensure I understand the tobacco, how to work it, how long to age it and ultimately how to blend harmonious ligas with it.

Also once I get my act together, we only then slowly begin to procure leaf in larger quantities for us to work with.

Our first Sumatran capa release was the CANH Fiddlehead, followed by our DTT 10th Jubilee and our third will be a very limited production liga called “Takumi” which we MAY be showcasing at next year’s PCA.

But during the process of blending Takumi, I develop a liga that wasn’t exactly what I wanted to achieve for it, but was in itself a tremendously tasty liga.

This happens all the time, I create something I love, but it is impossible for us to release everything – it is one of the reasons I make Store Exclusive drops like Dondurma, Khan ‘Alam, Halligan, etc… it allows me to share these expressions without having to deal with the commercial and production concerns of having too many brands in our core portfolio.

So that is exactly what this: an exceptional Sumatran liga that had no home, but we are going to partner with our friends at CD and Cigar Dojo and use it as a LP Drop at the 2026 Cigartopia Event in Phoenix, AZ on Saturday, November 4th.

This will be made available at the event for in-person procurement, but my understanding is if any remain they will then be offered via Cigars Daily’s website.

I have ZERO clue how many, if any, will remain… ok, I suspect there should be a few 10ct bundles left, but I really have no idea.

Also, I have no idea if I will ever make these again – these are really costly as they were made during the R&D phase of my Takumi project so the math may make it impossible for me to ever do these again without the Internet crazies who think all cigars should be discounted rotgut smokes screaming.

But for this one batch, one time we are going to offer these at a steal given their cost… also, the wrapper on these is a tad rustic for my eye, but their flavor is slamming!!!

“Shokai Bushido” means “an introduction to the way of the warrior,” it seemed like a perfect name for these to me given their blending lineage.

See everyone at Cigartopia in about 2 weeks!
