Casa Carrillo has its 2026 cigar for members of the Tobacconists’ Association of America, and this year Ernesto Perez-Carrillo pulled tobacco from five countries to build it.

The 2026 Casa Carrillo TAA Exclusive uses an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, with filler from the United States, Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The company rates it medium-plus in strength. It comes in one size, a 5ยฝ x 58 vitola.

“With the 2026 TAA Exclusive, we wanted to bring together tobaccos from different origins to create a blend with depth, character, and balance,” said Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, founder and master blender. “The Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and Ecuadorian Sumatra binder provide a distinctive foundation, while the combination of fillers from four countries adds complexity. The result is a medium-plus cigar that reflects our passion for blending and our commitment to creating something special for TAA members.”

Production is capped at 1,000 boxes of 10, and the company says there won’t be more once those boxes are allocated. Each cigar carries a suggested retail price of $14.

The TAA cigar has changed every year. According to halfwheel, the 2023 edition was a 6 x 52 box-press with a Connecticut wrapper at $13, the 2024 version was a 6 x 54 with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper at $13, and the 2025 release was a 6 x 54 box-press in Connecticut Broadleaf at $15. That makes the 2026 cigar the shortest of the four, and $1 cheaper than last year’s. The 2025 edition was also the first TAA release under the Casa Carrillo name after the company rebranded from E.P. Carrillo.

The TAA cigar joins a busy fall for the company, which recently brought back Battleborn with a new blend and added a robusto to Pledge Purple, following the spring debut of Ascend.

Shipping to participating TAA retailers starts next week.
