RoMa Craft co-founder Skip Martin has offered an early look at a new bundle cigar project that is expected to debut in August 2026.
Called Marinero, the project will launch with two blends: Boatswain and Cockswain. While Martin has not released details on the blends themselves, both cigars will be produced in a 6 x 60 format and sold in 25-count bundles.
Hallwheel has reported a bit more info on the blends in a recent article.
The new Marinero line will debut with two 6 x 60 gordos, each featuring a different blend. Boatswain uses a Mexican San Andrรฉs wrapper over an Ometepe, Nicaragua binder with fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Cockswain features an Ecuador Connecticut wrapper over a broadleaf binder. Additional filler details for the second blend have not been disclosed.
According to information shared by Martin, each cigar will carry an MSRP of $10, putting the suggested retail price at $250 per bundle.
One detail that drew attention was the spelling of Cockswain, rather than the more familiar Coxswain. Martin explained the reasoning on social media:
- Period correct to 1800s terminology.
- Same number of letters as Boatswain (symmetry).
- It Triggers Haters
The Marinero project is scheduled to arrive first at Pipe World in Texas and Caribbean Cigars in Florida beginning in August 2026.
