ure Cigars is set to debut a new limited release at this year’s Premium Cigar Association trade show in New Orleans, introducing “The Wahoo,” a two-vitola project built around a San Andrés wrapper.

The release follows the company’s earlier “The Jolly Walleye” and shifts toward a fuller-bodied profile. According to founder Hunter Cross, the concept also pulls from a personal connection.

“In appreciation of the retail partners who supported Lure Cigars with orders during this year’s Premium Cigar Association (PCA) trade show, we wanted to offer something exclusive for them during the event,” Cross said. “Following the recent second annual release of the lighter-bodied ‘The Jolly Walleye,’ I also wanted to create something for fans of bolder cigars. I’m a fan of San Andrés and was excited to work with this leaf again for this limited run. The point of the torpedo tip reminded me of offshore fishing with my dad—specifically the long, tapered body of the sportfish, the wahoo.”

“The Wahoo” will be offered in two sizes. “The Ono” is a 6 x 52 box-pressed torpedo limited to 1,700 cigars, while “The Kingfish” is a 6.5 x 52 round torpedo limited to 2,500 cigars. Both carry an MSRP of $16 per cigar.

The blend uses a Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder from Estelí, with fillers from Jalapa and Estelí. The company describes the profile as medium to full in strength, with notes that include cocoa, espresso, leather, baking spices, and pepper.

Production takes place in Estelí, Nicaragua, and the cigars are expected to ship to retailers following the trade show.
