Ferio Tego has announced a limited-production release commemorating the 30th anniversary of its Metropolitan brand. The new Ferio Tego Metropolitan 30 Years honors three decades of a portfolio that has remained largely unchanged in both concept and production approach since its origins in the mid-1990s.

Originally introduced in 1995โ€“1996, the Metropolitan line debuted with Connecticut and Maduro blends produced in the Dominican Republic by the Quesada family. Over time, the brand expanded with the addition of Metropolitan Habano in 2016, followed by the incorporation of the Host blends under the Metropolitan Selection umbrella in 2018. Each blend in the Metropolitan portfolio continues to be produced at the factory where it was originally developed.

โ€œThe Metropolitan blends have been enjoyed for generations. For many consumers and retailers alike, it was a first cigar, a go-to cigar, and often a celebratory cigar. That kind of loyalty and affection only happens when consistency remains core to the brand,โ€ said Michael Herklots, co-owner of Ferio Tego. โ€œWhen a blend is trusted, familiar, and respected over time, it becomes part of peopleโ€™s personal history. After more than 30 yearsโ€”and with a bright future aheadโ€”that is certainly cause for celebration.โ€

Cigar

Metropolitan 30 Years is offered as a single 6 x 50 toro, produced in the Dominican Republic by the Quesada family. The blend features Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers, a Dominican binder, and an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, designed to reflect the established character of the Metropolitan line while adding depth appropriate for an anniversary release.

โ€œSome of the Metropolitan blends were developed more than 30 years ago and reflect a traditional, old-world approach to flavor,โ€ Herklots added. โ€œMuch like the music we still enjoy from decades past, those blends have been thoughtfully remastered. While their core flavors remain consistent, the body has been deepened and enriched to meet palates where they are today. In keeping with that direction, this Ferio Tego Metropolitan 30 Years is a complex and flavorful blend with a round, rich body and balanced nuance. It honors the past 30 years while looking confidently toward the next.โ€

The cigar will be presented in 10-count boxes and limited to 2,500 boxes total, with a suggested retail price of $135 per box, before taxes. Shipping to retailers is expected to begin in late February. Distribution in the United States is handled by Davidoff of Geneva USA.
