In 2025, Oettinger Davidoff AG is commemorating its 150th anniversary, tracing its roots back to 1875 when Max Oettinger opened a tobacconist shop in Basel, Switzerland. To honor the milestone, the company will open the doors of Maison Davidoff in Basel for three days of public celebration, giving cigar enthusiasts a chance to explore the headquarters and its history.

The anniversary also brings updates to the company’s retail presence. Its flagship store at Marktplatz in Basel, known as “Davidoff of Geneva since 1911,” has been fully renovated. Renovations are also underway at flagship locations in New York and Monaco, with new stores planned at airports in Madrid, Lima, and Jeddah.

Oettinger Davidoff continues to invest in its production capabilities as part of its “Crop to Shop” philosophy. This includes an expanded manufacturing site in the Dominican Republic, completed in early 2025, and new fermentation and storage facilities set to open later this year in Danlí, Honduras.

A commemorative release, the Davidoff Exclusive 150 Years Oettinger Davidoff, will be available exclusively at Davidoff’s Swiss retail stores.

CEO Beat Hauenstein noted, “It is a great honor and pleasure to lead Oettinger Davidoff into the future and to successfully write new chapters in the company’s longstanding history.” He emphasized the company’s commitment to quality, innovation, and honoring the legacy of figures such as Dr. Ernst Schneider and Zino Davidoff.
