Plasencia Cigars, a prominent tobacco grower and cigar producer, has revealed its latest release, El Año de la Culebra – Edición Limitada 2025, as part of its Chinese New Year collection. This marks the fifth installment in the annual series, aligning with the Year of the Snake in the Chinese Zodiac.
The limited-edition cigar is available in specially designed ten-count boxes, featuring eight Lanceros and one Culebra composed of two intertwined cigars. The Culebra is a rare and intricate format requiring exceptional craftsmanship. According to Plasencia, only one roller at their facility possesses the expertise needed to create this distinctive style.
A total of 6,000 boxes have been produced, with 3,000 designated for the U.S. market. The cigars will begin shipping in December 2024.
El Año de la Culebra is crafted entirely from Nicaraguan tobacco and offers a nuanced smoking experience. The cigar’s profile begins with notes of petrichor and transitions into flavors reminiscent of sherry oak barrels. Additional layers include roasted chestnuts and creamy sweetness, with hints of fresh herbs. The cigar finishes with a subtle warming spice of cloves.
