Drew Estate has unveiled the latest addition to the Liga Privada Único Serie: Bakkwa, being an exclusive to CoH Cigars in Hong Kong.

While the company has been known to showcase new Liga Privada cigars to coincide with the Chinese New Year (most notably with the Liga Privada Único Serie Year of the Rat), the Bakkwa isn’t so explicit in concept, instead being described as “crafted to honor Lunar New Year traditions.”

Liga Privada Único Serie Bakkwa is described as being full bodied, making use of a Connecticut stalk-cut Habano wrapper over an undisclosed interior recipe. However, most such releases follow a similar makeup to either the Liga Privada No. 9 or Liga Privada T52 blends. This would presumably be based on the T52 blend, which uses a Brazilian Mata Fina binder and filler leaves from Nicaragua and Honduras.

Jonathan Drew, Founder and Presidente of Drew Estate highlights “I’m inspired by Bakkwa’s role as a cultural bridge, encapsulating festivity and indulgence in the form of a premium cigar. Drew Estate is so diverse as a company and as a brand, our people and our philosophies. Our zest for life and passion is embodied beautifully in this new offering. It’s dope.”

The cigars have been rolled in a 7″ x 48 Churchill format, and will be offered in 12-count boxes that will retail for $235 MSRP ($19.58 per cigar). Additionally, the cigars seem to tie together two pre-existing themes for Liga Privada: Chinese New Year and pork (à la Liga Privada Único Serie Pork Beli), as Bakkwa is described as a Chinese salty-sweet dried meat that is similar to jerky.
