After debuting the latest installment in Alec Bradley’s long-running Fine & Rare series at this summer’s PCA trade show in Las Vegas, the company has announced that the cigars are now shipping to retail, intended for an official launch date of Saturday, November 11.

This release will be the first in the series since Alec Bradley was acquired by Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) earlier this year, and the cigars are described as one of the last blends worked on by all three members of the Rubin family.

Bradley Rubin, brand ambassador for Alec Bradley noted, “Alec Bradley Fine & Rare BCN-143 is one of the final blends that Alec and I developed with Alan Rubin. It embodies our passion for exceptional tobacco and our commitment to carrying the brand forward with STG. I’m really looking forward to sharing this new expression with Alec Bradley fans, old and new.”

The Fine & Rare series has long been considered the most premium offering from Alec Bradley. The line debuted in 2011, and is famed for offering a whopping 10-leaf tobacco recipe. This is made possible through a single pair of torcedores at the Raíces Cubanas factory in Danlí, Honduras.

Since the original release (Fine & Rare HJ10-i), the line has returned on a near-annual basis, using factory codes to differentiate the changes in size/recipe. This can sometimes include re-releases, such as the BR12-13 of 2012 and 2017, or the JRS 10=(86) of 2015 and 2018. However, the 2023 release offers a new blend code: BCN-143, being rolled in a box-pressed 7″x 50 vitola.

The company seems to be divulging more of the cigar’s recipe with this iteration, citing the blend as such:

BCN-143 is a medium-bodied offering made with a Honduran Trojes Criollo 98 wrapper from the La Vega Coyol Farm in Honduras. The cigar’s double binder is comprised of Honduran Trojes Criollo 98 and Nicaraguan Esteli Criollo. The filler features these ligero tobaccos: Honduran Jamastran Criollo 98, Nicaraguan Jalapa Criollo 98, Honduran Trojes Criollo 98, with Honduran Jamastran Criollo 98, Honduran Trojes Corojo 99, Honduran Jamastran Corojo and Nicaraguan Jalapa Corojo 99, all from the viso priming.

The Alec Bradley Fine & Rare BCN-143 cigar arrives in collector-worthy packaging, including a substantial box with a slide-lid interior and individually slotted cigars. There have been 2,500 boxes of 10 cigars made, which are priced at $25.99 per cigar MSRP.
