Favilli S.A. (formerly Mombacho Cigars) has announced the release of the Cosecha 2016, being the fifth release in the company’s ultra-premium Cosecha series.

The Cosecha series debuted in 2017 with the Mombacho Cosecha 2012, being followed by the Cosecha 2013 in 2018, Cosecha 2014 in 2019, and Cosecha 2015 in 2020. The cigars take their name from the Spanish word for harvest, borrowing from the wine world with a concept of selecting a specific vintage to be used throughout each cigar’s blend.

The Favilli S.A. Cosecha 2016 therefore makes use of tobaccos harvested in 2016. Notably, the cigars were intended for a 2021 release, with delays allowing for an extra years’ aging at the time of release. The cigars are rolled in a singular 6″ x 52 toro format and sold in boxes of 10, priced at $200 MSRP ($20/cigar).

This marks the first Cosecha release since Favilli S.A. underwent significant changes over the past year, including Claudio Sgroi stepping down, Indiana Ortez coming on as general manager of Nicaraguan operations, and the company’s rebranding (from Mombacho Cigars to Favilli S.A.).
