As with 2019, the former Black Label Trading Co. presence was now represented within the larger conglomerate of Oveja Negra Brands. This includes BLTC, Black Works Studio, Dissident Cigars, and Emilio Cigars, all of which are produced out of the associated Fabrica Oveja Negra factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
In Cigar Dojo’s interview with James Brown (owner/partner for the majority of Oveja Negra brands and factory), the focus was on BLTC, BLK WKS… and James’ shoes.
For starters, BLTC’s Deliverance Porcelain has now risen to become their best-selling brand. This cigar is now a part of the core lineup, and will be offered in a new robusto format.
Adding to the 2019 limited release of Last Rites Viaticum, the company will now ship this year’s allotment in the original robusto size, along with new toro and lancero formats.
There is also the BLTC Memento Mori, which was originally only available at the company’s factory in Nicaragua, but is now being offered to U.S. retailers. The cigars are offered in corona, lonsdale, and robusto sizes, shipping near the end of the year.
New for Black Works Studio was an offshoot of the various Killer Bee blends, dubbed HIVE. This is a multipack of 27 cigars, showcasing various wrappers (Ecuador Maduro, Connecticut, and Candela) and unique sizes. There are three of each blend/size in the collection, priced at $12.50/cigar MSRP.
