Aganorsa Leaf’s ultra-premium Aniversario line is set to return for 2021, bringing an all-new look that more closely aligns with the company’s modern branding.
The Aniversario line began in 2013 with the Casa Fernández Miami Aniversario Bohème No. 35. The cigars made use of the company’s most prized tobaccos, being rolled by a single torcedor at Aganorsa’s boutique-style Aganorsa Miami factory, located in Miami, FL. The line continued with unique blends and formats each year through 2015. The series returned in 2018 with the Casa Fernández Miami Aniversario Perfecto, and has remained an annual release ever since.
In 2020, the series received its most significant blend change, introducing Aganorsa’s new shade-grown Corojo ’99 maduro wrapper leaf for the first time. The blend proved popular—notably receiving Cigar Dojo’s No. 5 Limited Edition Cigar of the Year for 2020—and will now return in two new formats for 2021: Box-Pressed Toro (6″ x 54) and Box-Pressed Short Churchill (5⅜” x 48).
“The Aniversario Maduro blend was a massive hit last year and there was great demand for this cigar to return to the market,” states Terence Reilly, Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “We also updated the packaging to make it clear this is an Aganorsa blend when consumers see it in the humidor.”
And if 2020 saw the biggest blend change, 2021’s release will introduce the brand’s biggest change in appearance. This includes all-new boxes and bands, and—most notably—the elimination of the former Casa Fernández branding. Aganorsa Leaf Aniversario Maduro 2021 will be limited to 2,500 boxes of 10 cigars (1,500 Toro and 1,000 Short Churchill); the Toro will be offered exclusively to retailers that attend the upcoming PCA trade show, while the Short Churchill will be reserved for Aganorsa Leaf Select Account tobacconists.
Both vitolas will retail for $13.75 MSRP and will begin shipping to retailers in August.
