Kyle Gellis owner of Warped Cigars has announced he will be launching ‘Chinchalle’ later this summer as its newest addition to the company lineup. Chinchalle is the Cuban slang term for a very small factory and the brand will be produced at Tabacalera La Isla owned by Hostos Fernandez Quesada in Santiago, Dominican Republic. This is the first cigar that Warped has produced in the Dominican Republic.
“We wanted to progress forward with Warped in challenging ourselves to keep providing unique blends to our customers, so heading to a place we have not produced cigars before was the immediate first choice. Hosto’s shares the same values as Warped, an incredible dedication to quality and consistency, he knows as well as we do that as younger industry veterans we need to always put those 2 values ahead of everything else, which is why our work flow was very organic and harmonious.” stated Kyle Gellis.
Kyle continued “I just returned from the Dominican Republic, checking on production, sourcing material, and chatting with Hostos, his family, the rollers, and really getting to know the heart and soul of this Chinchalle he has started, and I am incredibly happy to be apart of it.”
Currently there will be a single vitola being produced, a 5 x 50 Robusto in boxes of 25 with other vitolas currently in testing to add to the lineup later this year.
