Following shortly behind the Asylum Friday November the 13th cigarโcoinciding with Friday, Nov. 13, 2020โthe company is continuing the theme with Asylum Martes 13.
Martes 13 is the equivalent of Friday the 13th, recognized by Spanish-speaking regions such as Latin America and Spain. For them, the day lands on Tuesday (Martes), rather than Friday.
The superstition around Martes 13 is taken to a different level, to the point where there is a well-known phrase to encourage one from doing anything even remotely risky during said day:
โNi te cases ni te embarques ni de tu casa de apartesโ, which roughly translates to โDonโt get married, or travel, or even go far from homeโ.
Asylum Martes 13 is rolled in Honduras using all-Corojo tobaccos, with the blend said to fall in medium-to-full-bodied territory. Like the Friday the 13th cigars, Martes 13 will be offered in paper-wrapped five-packs, including 48×4 ($6.25/cigar MSRP) and 54×6 ($7.50/cigar MSRP) sizes. The next Tuesday the 13th lands in April, where the cigars are set to launch.
