The cigars mark the sophomore release from Alec and Bradley Rubin, sons of Alec Bradley Cigar Co. founder, Alan Rubin. While the duo’s 2018 debut (Alec & Bradly Blind Faith) featured a Honduran blend from the same factory (Fabrica de Tabacos Raíces Cubanas S. de R.L.) commonly used by parent company, Alec Bradley, the Gatekeeper sets itself apart through an all-new manufacturing partner in the DR—Tabacalera La Alianza S.A. The factory is well-known for producing E.P. Carrillo cigars, being overseen by renowned Master Blender Ernesto Perez-Carrillo.
Gatekeeper makes use of an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and premium fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The cigars boast a medium to medium-plus body, being offered in four sizes, with prices ranging from $8.75 to $12.25 MSRP per cigar.
