For the first time since Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust launched in 2015, the company will showcase a sister blend to one of its pre-existing core-line brands. Sobremesa was the company’s first line, and at the IPCPR 2019 trade show—held in Las Vegas later this week—Dunbarton will debut a new iteration of the blend with the Connecticut-wrapped Sobremesa Brûlée.
According to company owner, Steve Saka, the intent—when setting out to showcase his first Connecticut Shade-style blend—was not to cater to the modern style of high-intensity Connecticuts. Instead, Steve looked back to the Connecticuts of his youth, highlighting subtle nuances through a mild, sweet and nutty profile.
Sobremesa Brûlée incorporates nearly the same core blend as the original Sobremesa; notable changes include the removal of Pennsylvania ligero, an increase of Condega Seco, and the addition of the cigar’s signature wrapper ingredient, a “top shelf grade of BW Ecuador Connecticut Shade leaf.”
The cigars will debut at IPCPR 2019 in three sizes, priced between $12.45 and $13.95 per cigar. Brûlée will be offered to select, authorized retailers of Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust, with the first shipments slated to begin arriving in July.
