It’s official—Protocol Night Stick has completely sold out on opening day.
The cigars are the anticipated followup to 2018’s Protocol K9, with Cigar Dojo collaborating with Cubariqueño Cigar Company to offer a limited allotment through PA-based retailer Famous Smoke Shop. The release began at 12pm Eastern time, simultaneously launching online and at Famous’ brick and mortar retail location in Easton, where Cigar Dojo and Protocol Cigars members hosted a launch party for the release.
Of the 500 bundles of 10 cigars rolled for release, only 30 remained after one hour of sales. 400 of the bundles were reserved for online sales, completely selling out in one hour, 35 minutes. The final bundle reserved for in-store sales sold out by 7:45 pm, marking a complete sellout of all 5,000 cigars within eight hours.
Protocol Night Stick was made at the La Zona factory in Estelí, a familiar manufacturing partner for both Cubariqueño and Cigar Dojo. Playing on Protocol’s law enforcement theme, Night Stick embodies its namesake through the use of a hearty Nicaraguan core recipe and a dark Ecuadorian Habano Rosado Oscuro wrapper. Additionally, the cigars were rolled in a commanding 6½” x 54 “Attitude Adjuster” format. The blend is described as medium-full in body, bringing punchy flavors of cinnamon, clove, chocolate, and dark fruit.
