Following on the heels of January’s announcement that Drew Estate would be bringing back the fan-favorite Herrera Esteli Norteño Edicion Limitada Churchill, the company has now announced the return of the Herrera Esteli Habano Edicion Limitada Lancero—arguably the most sought-after cigar ever released under the Herrera Esteli brand.
Originally known as Herrera Esteli Edicion Limitada 2014 Lancero, the cigars first debuted in 2014 with only 2,000 boxes of 15 cigars in circulation. In the years following, this release has gained a cult/unicorn status among collectors and enthusiasts.
For 2019, the cigars will become available once more, with Drew Diplomat-authorized retailers receiving access to the Lancero at this year’s annual Tobacconists Association of America meeting (held March 17–21 in Casa de Campo, Dominican Republic).
Updated for 2019, the cigars are now packaged in the modernized look for Herrera Esteli—first unveiled at the 2018 IPCPR trade show. Herrera Esteli Habano Edicion Limitada Lancero will be packaged in flat, 15-count boxes, retailing for $186.96 ($12.46 per cigar). The cigar’s blend remains the same as the 2014 release—Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, Honduran binder, Nicaraguan fillers.
