Among the many new additions to Drew Estate’s portfolio revealed this summer at the industry’s annual IPCPR trade show was a complete overhaul to the Herrera Esteli brand. This included the addition of a Brazilian-wrapped maduro known as Herrera Esteli Brazilian Maduro—a new cigar that is now shipping to retailers nationwide.
Herrera Esteli Brazilian Maduro marks the fourth addition to the Herrera Esteli brand, joining the original Herrera Esteli (now known as Herrera Esteli Habano), the sophomore addition of Herrera Esteli Norteño, and the limited Herrera Esteli Miami. Herrera Esteli Brazilian Maduro sets itself apart from the other blends through the use of a plantation-grown Mata Fina maduro wrapper. This is used in conjunction with a Connecticut Broadleaf binder and all-Nicaraguan fillers.
Now shipping to tobacconist retailers nationwide, Herrera Esteli Brazilian Maduro is rolled in five sizes, with prices ranging from $8.16 to $10.80 per cigar (MSRP). This update comes as part of a full overhaul to the Herrera Esteli brand, which was first introduced in 2013, ushering in Master Blender Willy Herrera’s influence at Drew Estate. There is now a consistent look/feel throughout the Herrera Esteli collection, with all cigars being packaged in 25-count boxes and featuring the same five vitolas and pricing throughout each blend. The only outlier is with the limited Herrera Esteli Miami cigar, which is billed as the most premium line in the series (prices ranging from $9.80 to $12.75). While the primary three Herrera Esteli cigars and their updated packaging are now shipping, the redesigned Herrera Esteli Miami cigars are slated for a later release of January 2019.
