La Barba Cigars has announced a name change for the company’s third core-line cigar, pivoting from Primitivo to Ricochet, citing trademark issues with the original name.

The news comes only one day after Cigar Dojo offered an early look at the Primitivo cigar, with an in-depth review before the cigar’s official release.

The name change reflects the unfortunate situation itself, and, apart from the name and updated packaging, nothing else has changed with the cigars. Due to the added time from packaging adjustments, the cigars have been delayed to an estimated launch of Oct. 1st.

Also revealed in a press release sent out by La Barba, the Ricochet is said to be the first in an ongoing series that revolves around wine, inspired from Bellatto’s background as a sommelier.
