When Camacho announced the limited edition Camacho Liberty 2017 one year ago, the company made it clear that the cigar was to be the last original blend in the long-running Liberty Series (due to FDA regulations). Camacho has instead opted to revisit iconic blends from the Liberty Series’ past, beginning with the 2005 release.
Camacho Liberty 2005 Throwback marks the 17th release in the series in 16 years, which was originally crafted as the fourth bend in the series. The cigars have been rolled in Camacho’s signature 11/18 figurado vitola, mimicking the original release. Camacho has reportedly matched the original blend as well, using a Honduran Maduro wrapper over high-priming Original Corojo tobaccos in the filler/binder.
Original packaging is another focal point for each year’s Liberty Series, and 2018’s release features a modern twist on the original 2005 release. The cigars arrive in individually sealed coffins (alternating red and white), packaged with a framed American flag used for the box’s top.
