The Partagas 1845 was just released this year and what a spiffy looking cigar it is! I am definitely a fan of the Partagas brand, so as soon as I heard about this new release, I had to get one. The sideways band is one of the coolest things I’ve seen on a cigar and the logo itself is also rather cool. I admit I often times just starred at the label as I enjoyed the smoke.
As with most of my cigars, I let this one age roughly a month in my humidor before smoking it (just my personal preference when it comes to smoking). When it finally came time to smoke the Partagas 1845, I couldn’t contain myself.
There was a clean cut, nice pre-light draw hint that this was going to be a pleasant smoke. I toasted and got on with the experience. The flavors jumped out at me. There was a rich and creamy cocoa essence with complex changes through out that switched from earthy to sourdough and back. The flavors were consistent between the three notes and a nice blend as well! The draw was great, producing volumes of thick, creamy smoke that lingered in the air, letting my nose join in the adventure.
This was a full flavored and medium-full bodied cigar that was very satisfying and when I was finished I wanted more! Another interesting thing about the Partagas 1845, is that it pairs well with other cigars! I was going back and forth between it and a Tatuaje Cabaiguan maduro. The combo was amazing!
Would I Smoke This Cigar Again?
Yes! In fact, it wasn’t long after the first one that I picked up another. They are well worth the $6 price tag.
