Crowned Heads is looking back at Nashville’s live music history with Starwood, a new event-only cigar named after the city’s former Starwood Amphitheater.
The outdoor venue operated from 1986 to 2006, hosting concerts across rock, country, and pop music. Blue Öyster Cult performed on opening night, while Aerosmith and Mötley Crüe were among the acts on the final bill. The amphitheater, which could accommodate more than 17,000 concertgoers, was later demolished.
For Crowned Heads President Jon Huber, the connection is personal.
“Starwood was more than a venue, it was a rite of passage for so many people in Nashville,” commented Jon Huber, Crowned Heads President. “I vividly remember seeing Cheap Trick open for Stone Temple Pilots back in May of 1997 at the Starwood. The lawn, the lights, the roar of the audience, all created an indelible memory for anyone who saw a show there. With this cigar, we were inspired to create an exceptional smoke that is meant fo be enjoyed in good company, the same way the best shows always were.”
Starwood is produced at Nicaragua American Cigars S.A. (NACSA) in Nicaragua. The 5″ x 50 robusto uses an Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos from Estelí, Jalapa, and Ometepe.
The cigar will be available exclusively at select Crowned Heads in-store events. The company has not announced pricing, packaging details, or a schedule of upcoming events.
